We are excited to be back at the Garden Museum in September with a two week exhibition celebrating the 15 gardens supported by PGB at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023. All our 2023 gardens for good causes are being relocated to permanent homes throughout the UK.
August 29, 2023
The Garden Museum will host our second annual Gardens for Good Causes Exhibition from 18 September to 2 October, showcasing the fifteen gardens we supported at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the latest Project Giving Back garden cohort and highlight the work of some amazing charities large and small. The immersive exhibition, produced by Motive Productions, will bring to life the 2023 gardens with displays of images, information and artefacts from some of the show gardens, interspersed with plant displays inspired by the gardens and curated by Humaira Ikram.
The exhibition shines a light on the lasting impact the gardens will make to their communities and beneficiaries. Many of this year’s cohort of PGB gardens have already been rebuilt in their new locations and others are in the process. From Glasgow to Cornwall, their new homes are in hospitals, schools and community spaces, where they will offer a range of benefits, from providing therapeutic spaces and boosting pride in the local environment to increasing biodiversity for the benefit of everyone.
Alongside the exhibition, some of our garden teams will be hosting a series of workshops as part of the Garden Museum’s new Branch Out free events programme taking place on Thursdays. Visitors can learn more about the individual gardens and take part in hands-on activities including botanical painting with Horatio’s Garden, planting a handmade clay bowl with Camellia Taylor and Aspens, and creating habitats for insects with the Royal Entomological Society.
The 15 charities represented in the exhibition are:
• Aspens
• Centre for Mental Health
• Centrepoint
• Choose Love
• Fauna & Flora
• Horatio’s Garden
• Myeloma UK
• Royal Entomological Society
• RSPCA
