We are delighted to reveal further good causes we will support next year with the announcement of the All About Plants and Sanctuary Gardens at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023.
November 14, 2022
Each of the six gardens in the All About Plants category, as well as two Sanctuary Gardens, highlight the work of UK registered charitable organisations and will be relocated to permanent locations to live on after the show. With seven large Show Gardens announced last month, this brings the total number of gardens for good causes we will support in 2023 to fifteen.
The All About Plants gardens, a new category that was introduced in 2022, are staged inside the Great Pavilion. Most are created by Chelsea first time designers helping to encourage new talent. These gardens aim to put the focus firmly on the plants, so 80% of their area must be planted material and designers have been asked to seek out specialist plant nurseries to supply them.
The Sanctuary Gardens are the smaller outdoor show gardens ranging from conceptual to more traditional designs. Inspired by the healing power of gardens, they offer havens of peace and reflection, as well as practical gardening ideas to take home.
Hattie Ghaui, CEO of Project Giving Back, says:
“We are immensely proud to reveal eight further good causes that join our cohort of gardens to be created in 2023. The missions of these charitable organisations span a range of topics including health, healthy eating, the arts and wildlife, but what unifies their message is the powerful role of nature and its importance to wellbeing. This is the key reason that gardens offer such a strong platform for causes to engage and tell their stories.”
